The Four Young Constables

It’s been an extremely long time since I last watched an ancient series so I’m so glad The Four has been aired because it has totally brought back my love for them and Raymond ♥ I think the last time I watched an ancient series would have been over a year ago when I watched Best Bet? That’s a really long time for me considering the number of series I watch each year :P Let’s not even discuss why I watched that show because IDEK :P Actually looking through the list of ancient series I kind of regret not watch The Master of Taichi when my beloved Raymond is in it.

Back to The Four Young Constables. This series is quite intriguing to watch because surprisingly its not all fighting and killing which was my impression of it after watching the trailer. The four constables are part of this group where they help solve cases with 無情 (Raymond) being the big brother of the group :D I’m up to ep 10 at the moment and so far the cases have been really interesting considering how they manage to find the villain behind it all without using any technology. I like how even though 無情 is crippled, without him nothing would be solved because he’s the one with the brain ;)

The others?

Ron’s character is called 冷血 and I haven’t seen much of him so far so can’t comment on much but I like Ron in this series. I’m not usually a big fan of Ron because I don’t really like the way he talks (in real life and in series) but he doesn’t talk much in The Four so…:P Plus I find it cute how he’s always protecting 小刀 but he acts so “cool” in front of her.

Kenneth acts as 鐵手 who’s a typical male character in an ancient series. Bold, tough and courageous. There’s nothing special about his character but I love Kenneth so it doesn’t bother me :P What I like most is his relationship with Selina Li because I like her and they really are quite cute. Selina is always mean to Kenneth but no matter how mean she is, he’s still nice to her and is always saving her life^^

Sammul’s called 追命 and I don’t know how to describe his character. He’s greedy but he’s not full on greedy? But he’s really good at tricking people and always manages to get himself out of trouble even though he’s not THAT at martial arts. I don’t dislike 追命 but there’s nothing about him that particularly interests me.

The females

I only know Kate and Selina, the other two are newbies who I’ve never seen before.
The Four has totally changed my perception of Kate. Before I strongly disliked her because she’s always so irritating and fake when she acts. This was even before Moonlight Resonance; after that series she just plummeted underground in my liking scale. Anyways, Kate seems to be really different in The Four. She’s calm, relaxed and quite natural which is a big improvement. I also think she looks quite pretty in her ancient costume, maybe she should act in ancient series more. I now feel neutral towards Kate…if she continues acting like this and improving more I’ll probably start liking her^^
However, I still stand strong on my belief that Tavia or Leila would have been a better option for this role :P That’s a very biased oppinion though :P:P

Selina is so cute in here. Especially when she’s bickering with Kenneth. She’s so pretty and I’m anticipating to see more of her in the future episodes and her relationship with Kenneth!! Her character isn’t that interesting though. She plays the daughter of a tribe leader (?) who’s very confident even though her martial arts isn’t that good. She tends to dig up trouble for herself quite a bit and Kenneth always seems to be there to save her.

The other girls are pretty decent for newbies. None of them are like WOW but they aren’t irritating to watch and it’s good to see some fresh faces in TVB series.

Themesong

I didn’t expect all 4 of them to sing the themesong because I thought Raymond would have it all to himself. Raymond’s an actual singer so I won’t compare him with the rest although technically Ron is a singer as well =.=” Keeping that in mind, I still think Kenneth and Sammul sound better than Ron and this is not a biased oppinion. Sammul actually sounds quite decent. But yeah, its funny hearing Ron sing…I seriously think they should ban him from singing. I can’t believe he’s actually released a cd >.<

After watching Moonlight Resonance I’ve been obsessed with this english song that gets played a lot during Linda&Bosco scenes. A few weeks ago I was desperately searching for it but did not succeed. Yesterday I finally FOUND IT!! The title is Ice cream [What a strange name] but no one knows who sang it!! I’m guessing this song must be produced by TVB and sang by someone from TVB but I don’t know, it sounds too good to be TVB produced; no joke! I couldn’t imagine someone in Hong Kong writing english lyrics that made sense let alone touching lyrics like this.  

If it is a TVB song than the only person I think resembles the voice is Janice but in some parts of the song it doesn’t sound very Janice like. The first verse sounds like Linda a tad but TVB would not hide it if Linda sang it. They’d use every opportunity they can find to promote her =P And the rest of the song doesn’t sound like her anyway [I coud not imagine Linda singing the bridge part]. Not that I’m against TVB promoting Linda, I actually like her but there are so many people out there that don’t like her =/

I’m so glad they have a full version now =D Before we could only listen to the cuts from the series and that was just pure torture.

Congratulations to Nancy Wu!!!

She looks so pretty!

This is the 2nd season of this dancing competition…not sure what its called but its like Dancing with the Stars. Maybe it’s called strictly dancing? Anyways, well Nancy Wu is in this season and she did this really cool sexy funky jazz dance and she got FOUR 10’s. There’s 4 judges in the panel and all of them gave her a 10! That is like an incredible achievement because they are normally really strict and only give like 8’s and stuff. I am so happy for her because Nancy’s always been a TVB actress I’ve liked. She was like almost about to cry! I saw Mrs Lok there in the audience, wonder what she was thinking at the time.

Is Nancy under Mrs Lok’s management? If she is, they are definitely not promoting her enough. She’s so much better than other actresses who are getting a hell of a lot more promoting than her. Why can’t TVB promote here more?! Even giving her a supporting role in a series will do! I thought she would appear a lot in War of In Laws II because there was a whole story on her in the character profile but that never ended up happening <_<

Moses wants Bernice to give a belated birthday present

Moses started blushing as soon as Bernice’s name was mentioned.

The other day Moses had to attend Causeway Bay’s One2free (phone shop) grand opening. Moses accepted the reporter’s interviews on stage. He thinks that mobile phones are really important because he spends most of his time at the production studios so he has to use his mobile phone to communicate with his friends and read the latest entertainment news. The host then asked him whether he keeps up to date with his rumoured girlfriend Bernice Liu’s news. Moses started blushing and wouldn’t answer the question until he finally gave in and said: “Blushing is one of my good points and one of my bad points; it’s very hard to control” [Why didn’t you answer straight away?] “I didn’t know you would ask something like that” Moses then started talking about his birthday which was on the 16^th April. He received a bicycle which was his favourite present that day. [Did Bernice give it to you?] “No it wasn’t her, I don’t think she was in Hong Kong, can everyone here help me tell her to give me a belated birthday present.” [What kind of present do you want?] “Anything coffee related because I’m a coffee fan and I’m planning to open a coffee shop”

Just a random news article I decided to translate because I felt like translating. I really think Moses and Bernice are actually together. They never deny the rumours. Even though Moses might seem pretty silly to people, he is actually very good with money and investments. Tavia also knows that Moses knows a bit about the stockmarket, revealing his high amount of assets and nicknaming him “Yau Mai Ho” (Wealthy Moses)The other day, Tavia Yeung, Moses Chan and Ha Yu was at Wan Chai’s Gold Bauhinia Square to film new series Heart of Greed 2. They were acting a scene where Tavia and Ha Yu were trying to convince Moses to stop obsessing over buying shares. In reality, Tavia knows Moses is actually very good at investing in property and shares.   

 

Tavia says: “I am not good at shares and investing so my mum handles all that stuff. Moses on the other hand is very good with that, he has a good eye for these things even though he acts so silly all the time, he has a few apartments and is very rich. In the future if I have any financial problems and can’t find a place to live, I hope Moses will rent one of his apartments to me, so his nickname can be “Baau Jo Ho” (Landlord Moses) or “Yau Mai Ho” (Wealthy Moses).

Nicknamed wealthy Moses by Tavia he happily replied: “No, don’t listen to her (Reporter: She said you’re good at investing) I’m just protecting my assets, so I can be comfortable in the future with middle classed assets (Do you have a few properties?) I’ve only got one apartment, I’m like a houswife, don’t want to buy expensive things, I think the property prices are still a bit high (When did you start investing?)During my teenage years I’d spend every dollar I earned, when I first entered the entertainment industry I never got any jobs, to save money I’d walk from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tai Tze (Prince Edward) so maybe because I’ve been poor before, I really appreciate what I have today.”

Fee: Even though i like tavia and i like moses, i’m still not so sure about them as a couple though. Heart pf Greed 2 sounds kind of lame but I’ll still watch it because it has like the bestest cast ever (minus Kate). If only there was a Bosco-Tavia-Raymond love triangle, I would be so keen for it.
