SNSD won the Daesang award at Seoul Music Awards tonight. I’m so freaking happy for them and proud as a SONE. They are the first girl group to win 3 daesangs at the 3 different award shows *tear*

Not the best Gee performance I’ve seen but people were saying how they’re probably getting tired of performing it which I think could be the case. Taeyeon had to lipsync some parts because she wasn’t too well D: HOWEVER Oh! performance was pretty good and Taeyeon regained her energy and was all happy again :DD

The thing I love about watching them win awards (apart from them actually gaining the word to prove their success) is the fact that there’s always cute moments in them. It’s weird how I love SNSD pairings but with other groups I really don’t like it when fans pair the members up. Must be my SNSD bias XD

Gosh chinese SONEs are so efficient and dedicated! They didn’t really talk about too much in this. The guys just asked what Oh! was about and asked some stuff about what the dance is like then…Shindong tells Jessica to perform the cow herding dance with Heesica haha and they get named Double Sica XD The rest of the interview were basically words of encouragement for the olympians (because tonight’s show was a special dedicated to the athletes participating in the Winter Olympics) and Seohyun’s words of wisdom :D

Much much better performances tonight! Most of the things I complained about yesterday got fixed and even the hair improved ever so slightly. Sunny sounded a lot better too and the cameramen for Inkigayo are jjang! I missed the hats from yesterday, they were cool but I like today’s Oh! outfits more XD And the fans were so loud, I bet the girls must have been super happy about that. I also hear some fangirls this time too especially during Jessica/Sooyoung parts haha this one girl was screaming so loudly XD Overall, this was a great comeback for Oh! I’ll be capping my favourite moments once I download the video in HD :D

Thoughts:

• Expected more from MBC; they were pretty stingy on the props.
• Really bad camera men, I’ve seen worse but this was still pretty bad especially their angles. Only good thing about them was their Maknae bias XD
• Didn’t really like the wigs for Show! Show! Show! but SNSD did pull them off alright ^^
• LOVED the Showx3 outfits though, they were hot and lovee the dance!
• Love how they strut forward at 0.25 during Showx3
• JETI ENGLISH <333

Oh!

More thoughts:

• As much as I love Sunny and her aegyo, she was singing too cutely :/
• Loved the dandyu couple moment at 1.09, they are so cute hehe.
• The fanchant was so loud! I really want to find out what they’re saying so I can scream it too XD
• Yuri looked so so pretty as always.
• My favourite part in the dance is when they all surround Jessica at 2.34 and start moving forward together, that part looks so cool!
• LOL at Yuri’s jump at the end, she’s so not injured haha. I’m glad she got better :)

Overall, I’m not sure which performance I liked better. Oh! was cuter while Showx3 looked cooler. Anticipating Inkigayo comeback, SBS has the best stage decorations, camerawork and sound system :D

Taeyeon covering Park Ji Yoon’s ‘In My Fading Memory’

This cover is so so beautiful! Taengoo never disappoints with her ballad covers. I really need to find some lyrics for this because it sounds so sad but pretty T__T The original was sung by Park Ji Yoon which you can listen here. I think I like Taeyeon’s cover more because her voice sounds more soft and gentle but that’s a matter of personal preference. The original is very very nice too ^^ I love how Taeng sings so well even with the live instrumental by Mate because I heard it’s harder to catch the beat like that.

[Review] 소녀시대 – 2집 Oh!

To be honest, I’d be lying if I were to say I LOVED every single track in this album but the songs seriously weren’t that bad compared to the songs in Genie mini album so I’m not feeling disappointed. In fact, the release of Oh! totally made my day yesterday XD SNSD try out a variety of genres in here I think. They have the old school pop (Oh!), the sad sad ballads (Forever/Starx3), the happy songs, the dance songs and even a jazzy type song. I’m really happy with the fact that they pulled off each style really well even if some of them aren’t really genres I usually listen to.

1. Oh! – I wrote about this in the post before but thought I’d make a little comment on it again. The more I listen to it, the more it makes me want to laugh when I sing along to it because the lyrics are so cheesy XD I think people are taking this song too seriously, like I think it’s one of those songs where you’re just meant to sing along and dance to it, laugh and have fun whilst doing that. It’s not one of those songs that’s supposed to turn your life around or anything. That’s just my opinion though.

2. Show Show Show – Fast, catchy dance track. I don’t know what else I should say about it. I think we need a live performance of this to be able to enjoy listening to it more and I know they performed it at their concert but the fancams don’t count :P Last thing, I love JeTi english part haha XD

3. 뻔 & Fun (Sweet Talking Baby) – Surprisingly, I really like this song haha. It’s happy and sounds like a kids song but it reminds me of SNSD’s older songs like Kissing You so I guess that’s why I enjoy it so much ^^ I could totally imagine a cute colourful mv to go with it.

4. 영원히 너와 꿈꾸고 싶다 (Forever) - OMGGG I loveee this song SOOO MUCHH! The very first time I listened to it I was like omg this is love! This song is very similar to Complete from their first full album which is one of my all time fave SNSD songs! It’s a very pretty ballad that really showcases the girls’ vocals. Full of Taeyeon ad libs :DD Actually all 4 of the “main” singers get ad libs :D

5. 웃자 (Be Happy) – Another fast happy song that kinda sounds like a kids song as well LOL. Good song for exercising XD

6. 화성인 바이러스 (Boys & Girls) (feat. Key of SHINee) – Fast dancy kinda song again. I’ve listened to the song quite a bit but I still can’t really hear Key properly rofl.

7. 카라멜 커피 (Talk To Me) – This is the JeTi duet which I was so so excited about before but I have to admit I was disappointed with this, though it’s not the song’s fault. It’s too jazzy for me and even if it’s JeTi singing I still wouldn’t listen to it as much as the other songs. I must say their vocals sound great though :)

8. 별별별 (☆★☆) – My 2nd most listened to song after Oh! I didn’t really spazz about this when I first listened to it but after about 3 listens I spazzed about it more than Forever. This is such a beautiful ballad and I have so much to say about it, I’m going to list them in dot points lmao.

• Seohyun really really shines in here, her vocals are so underated!
• SUNNY’S FALSETTOS <333 She’s so good at them!
• Taeyeon’s ad libs near the end
• Even though Yuri gets one line I think she has improved so much!
• Same goes to Sooyoung!
• Tiffany’s husky voice is PERFECT for this song.
• I love the star, star, star bit at the end <3
• I demand a live performance ASAP!

9. 무조건 해피엔딩 (Stick Wit U) – Fastest song in the album hehe. I totally didn’t expect it to be a fast song but I really like this one because it reminds me of anime theme songs XD

10. 좋은 일만 생각하기 (Day By Day) – I fail as a fan, I’ve never listened to this song before :X This also sounds like their older songs and is pretty easy to listen to.

11. Gee – Very very catchy song which surprisingly wasn’t the song that made me a fan but I started to accept them more after Gee :P

12. 소원을 말해봐 (Genie) – The song that started my fandom :D I still listen to it a lot and my iPod seems to like it too, whenever it’s on shuffle this song comes up a lot :P

[Preview] SNSD Oh!

First things first, yes, I am a biased SNSD fan but what I’m going to write is TRUELY my opinion of the song.

I really really like it. I’ve probably mentioned this on the blog before but I really really like electronica stuff. Like all the music Big Bang use to release, I really loved that stuff. This is probably slightly more energetic than songs like Lies and Haru Haru but I like it because it’s great for dancing and the teaser was so cute haha. This song incorporates unique (for kpop) dance beats along with catchy lyrics and considering SNSD’s popularity these days, I’m 90% sure it will be a big hit. Honestly, I’m not sure if it will be as successful as Gee but I don’t think that matters too much because you have to admit SNSD are pretty damn big in Korea right now and basically anything they release (be it good or bad) will be relatively popular due to their huge fanbase. The style of music might be a bit new to some people if they’re use to the hook songs but I love how SNSD likes to experiment with new things (or their company likes them to lmao), it’s better to be the one that sets trends than one that follows them and the song WILL grow on you people just need to give it a chance! I’m bad at recognising voices so I can’t comment on their singing parts yet except that they sound great in the chorus haha.

And about the whole oppa thing in the lyrics, it really doesn’t bother me rofl. Not like they’re going to sing to their unnies or whatever because that would just be plain weird and then it would bother me a lot haha.

One last thing…HOW CUTE IS THE TEASER XD I watched it so many times because it just made me laugh, they are such dorks! MV is releasing soon! I can not wait until I get my hands on this album, I hope it gets shipped on the actual release date!
